Job Description
MIET (Autonomous) invites applications from dynamic and accomplished individuals for the position of Professor/Dean in the School of Law. This leadership role is pivotal in advancing the institution's commitment to academic excellence through exemplary teaching, innovative research, and meaningful service.
Candidates must meet the qualifications prescribed by AICTE/UGC and possess a proven ability to enhance the academic and intellectual environment of the School of Law. The selected candidate will be expected to drive innovative scholarship, cultivate critical thinking, and mentor students to excel in the legal profession while contributing to the betterment of society.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership for the academic and operational functions of the School of Law.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the institution’s goals.
- Oversee curriculum design, program development, and accreditation processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in legal education and research.
Faculty Development:
- Foster an environment that encourages scholarly research, professional development, and teaching excellence.
- Oversee faculty performance evaluations and promote a culture of academic integrity and collaboration.
Student Success:
- Promote student engagement in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including moot courts, internships, and pro bono work.
- Ensure student access to support services, including career counseling, bar preparation, and academic advising.
External Engagement:
- Build partnerships with legal professionals, law firms, government bodies, NGOs, and other organizations.
- Represent the school in national and international academic forums, conferences, and legal networks.
- Advocate for the school within the institution and the wider community.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all institutional policies, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
- Serve as the liaison with relevant accrediting bodies and professional organizations.
